The advancements and technological innovations in electronics are felt in area as diverse as commercial communications, medicine and defense. The department places strong emphasis on fundamentals, so that the student is introduced to complex subjects in an interesting and easy manner. The Department imparts technical knowledge in the areas of devices, Electronic circuits, Communication Engg., Satellite communication, Optical communication, Computer hardware interface and Biomedical instrumentation.

Electronics lab is special and well equipped with the latest signal generators, oscilloscopes, digital trainer kits and measuring instruments. Students of various branches design and test their analog/digital/mixed signals, digital circuits as part of their curriculum. Guidance is provided to the students by a team of expert faculty and lab technicians. The labs are kept open after the college hours to enable the students to engage themselves in designing / testing the circuits in their leisure hours. Students are grouped into small teams and guided to do their mini projects by using the facility mentioned below.

Microprocessor and Microcontroller lab

Microprocessor lab helps the students enhance their knowledge about various processors such as 8085, 8086, Microcontollers, Pentium processors and also the interfacing of these processors with other equipments. Students from other branch of engineering and sciences also come to this lab and develop their skills in the field of microprocessor and its applications. The features and facilities available in this lab will help the students do their projects and enhance their knowledge about the latest trends and technologies.

Digital Signal Processing Lab

The Digital Signal Processing is becoming more prevalent in everyday use. The field of DSP was developed due to the flexibility offered by the use of digital computers in implementing signal processing algorithms and systems. There is a constant need for designing systems with DSP. The DSP lab is equipped with hordes of personal computers. The students enrich their knowledge by using the software tools like matlab, matcad, modelsim,Leonardo spectrum.

Department Library

For the benefit of the Department staff members and students, a separate library has been installed in the department. It has more than 200 volumes of technical books on 50 titles on various subjects. 06 Eleven National and 03 International Journals (including IEEE Journals) have been subscribed for the department library and subsequently they will be sent to the Central library. The library also has a reading hall that can accommodate about 25 people.
